Marilyn Vaughan

Marilyn Angela Freeman Dailey Vaughan, age 69, passed away on April 16, 2025, in her hometown of Dublin, Georgia. Born on September 17, 1955, to the late Marion Ray Freeman and Madelyn Durden Freeman, Marilyn's life was a testament to her enduring kindness and unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

Marilyn was a proud graduate of Dublin High School and furthered her education at Brewton Parker College. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Snellville but has attended Dudley Baptist Church since 2016. Her professional life was as fulfilling as her personal one, with a longstanding career as a bookkeeper. She dedicated many years to Freeman, Daniel & Co., and later brought her expertise to Freeman, Sweat & Harrison, where her meticulous work and warm demeanor were greatly valued.

Marilyn's heart was always fullest when surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles N. Vaughan, Jr., and her beloved children, Heather Jo DeJong and her husband Daniel, Richard Dailey, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, and Clark Dailey and his wife Susan. Marilyn's joy was multiplied by her ten grandchildren and further amplified by four great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. She also leaves behind her brother, Marion R. "Butch" Freeman and his wife Beth, her sister Carolyn Pharis and her husband Trinton, and her dear aunt, Ceil Durden Buchanan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 18, 2025 at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Daniel DeJong officiating.

Pallbearers will be Stephen DeJong, Andrew DeJong, Levi Dailey, Hilton Joiner, Ricky Walker and Will Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers will include Drake Dailey, Luke Dailey and Noah Dailey.
