Martha L. Evans Green, affectionately known as “Ha Ha” by her loved ones, died peacefully at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA, on October 30, 2024.
Mrs. Green currently resided in Brunswick, GA, but was formerly of Montrose, GA. She was born in Dublin, GA, on November 22, 1945, to the late Nuion and Mildred Evans, and grew up in Laurens County. She was a graduate of Dudley High School and the Crandal Business College in Macon, GA. Following her college graduation, she began her career at Robins Air Force Base where she retired after 20 years of dedicated service. She later went to work at the Carl Vinson VA in Dublin where she worked until her second retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Evans, and nephew, Ricky Evans.
Mrs. Green leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Kim Green of Brunswick, GA, and Wade Green of Washington, DC; brother, John (Shebbie) Evans of Montrose, GA; special cousin, Carol Cain of Smiths Station, AL; special niece, Nikki (Scottie) Poole of Montrose, GA; great-niece, Courtney (Mason) Dillard of Byron, GA; great-nephews, Brandon and Evan Poole of Montrose, GA; brother-in-law, Tom (Kay) Green of Fitzgerald, GA; sister-in-law, Lee Green of Blue Ridge, GA, and most of all her beloved grand dogs, Dixie and Truman, and many nieces and nephews.
Martha Green, beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, was boldly irreverent and unapologetically herself. Her spark and warmth live on in all who knew her. A one-of-a-kind soul, Martha found joy in spending time with family, decorating, and hunting for antiques.
In keeping with her Baptist faith, a celebration of her life will be held on November 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Centerville Baptist Church in Dublin. Rev. Ken Broughton will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Martha’s memory may consider a donation to Centerville Baptist Church, 1829 Mount Olive Rd., Dublin, GA 31021, or to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1629 Glencoe Pkwy., Brunswick, GA 31525.
