Mary Jane "Dee" Phillips, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 84 in Dublin, Georgia. Born in Wahiawa, Hawaii, on January 26, 1941, to the late Allen Curtis Wheeler and Irene Kaliponi Moi Awaeu Wheeler. Dee lived a life that was vibrant and nurturing.
Dee was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose unwavering dedication to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her loving son, Craig Corbett and his wife Casey, her cherished daughter, Cilela Pritchett and her husband Chad, and her adored grandchildren, Coa Corbett, Andrew Pritchett, Benjamin Pritchett, and Kingson Pritchett. She was sister to Douglas Wheeler and his wife Juanita, Jimmy Wheeler and his wife Julie, and Rochelle Wheeler. Dee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Phillips, her siblings, Alan "Speedy" Wheeler, Russell Wheeler, and Patricia Wheeler, and her treasured parents.
Dee's professional life was marked by her exceptional work ethic and dedication. She retired as the office manager of Robin Buildings in Lyons, GA after 33 years of service, where she was not only a valued employee but also a friend to all who passed through the doors. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her faith. Dee was a faithful attendee of Dudley Baptist Church, where she found a community of like-minded souls who shared her passion for service and worship.
Her interests were a reflection of her loving and nurturing spirit. Dee was an ardent admirer of gospel and Hawaiian music, finding comfort and joy in the melodies that spoke to her soul. Her love for music was infectious, often shared during family gatherings where her gentle presence was a source of warmth and happiness.
In every aspect of her life, Dee exemplified the virtues of kindness and love. Those who knew her described her as the epitome of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her gentle demeanor was a source of solace and strength to her family and friends, and her loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Dudley Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Greene and Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Dee's family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM until service time at Dudley Baptist Church.
