Melba Veal Obituary

Melba Nelson Veal, age 86, of Dexter, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Mrs. Veal was born September 22, 1933, to the late Henry Marion and Nellie Horton Nelson. She retired from the State of Georgia Forestry Department and attended Dexter United Methodist Church. She loved riding horses and working outdoors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Nelson, Nathan Nelson, H.L. Nelson, Edwin Nelson, and F.C. Nelson, and sister, Myrtice Williams.

Survivors include her daughters, Myrtice Frances Patisaul Nowell (Robert), of Dexter, and Linda Veal Hester (Randy), of Yulee, FL; grandchildren, Dana Patisaul (Christy), Buck Patisaul (Laura Lee), Travis Patisaul (Mallori), Jack Hester (Pattie), and Jill Hester Barrette (Matt); great-grandchildren, Michael Loyd, Jaiden Loyd, Marlee Rose Patisaul, Mace Patisaul, Huck Patisaul, Bent Patisaul, Deckard Barrette, and Eislee Hester, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Billy Glosson will officiate.

Townsend Brothers Funeral Home and Staff respectfully ask all in attendance to follow social distancing guidelines.
