Patricia A. Foskey, age 81, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
Patricia was born in Washington D.C. to the late Lucille Mincey Powell and Jesse Dennis Powell. After graduating from Falls Church High School, Virginia, she was employed with the Central Intelligence Agency where she met her husband. She was also employed with the Emanuel County School System as a substitute teacher at the Adrian School. She served as PTO President at the school where they were able to raise funds to put air conditioners in 24 rooms in the school. Patricia was employed with Dolores & Woody’s Shop in Swainsboro and Belk Dept. Store in Dublin. She was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church for 34 years where she held the position of being the first female trustee of the church and lastly Chairman of the Board. She was a member of the UMW and a former member of the Adrian Garden Club.
She and her husband moved to Dublin in 2005 where she was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Senior Foresters, serving as secretary for two years; The Golden Notes Choir, the Morning Circle, where she served as treasurer; and the UMW. She enjoyed baking, sewing, music, and dancing, and started oil painting at the age of 68.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jack Foskey of Dublin; son, David (Wendy) Foskey of Sharpsburg; daughters, Diane M. Cumbie of Columbia, S.C. and Kimberly Foskey of Dublin; grandchildren, Andrea (Sumeet) Singh of Reston, VA, Allison Cumbie of Washington D.C., Morgan Graham and Ava Graham, both of Dublin; step-grandchildren, Holly (Jim) Adams of Alpharetta, Michael (Liza) Terry of Dallas, GA; great-granddaughter, Remi Leigh Mullis Graham; brothers, Bill (Sandra) Powell of Huntsville, AL, and Roy Powell of Arvada, CO; sisters, Linda Roots of International Falls, MN, Shari (Chuck) Malott of Littleton, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
