Mrs. Patsy Brinson, affectionately known as “Ma” was born May 12, 1941, to Mercer Leroy Denby and Mary Lavone Denby. She was a devout mother of five children, Virgil, Kaye, Curtis, Patrick, and Tammy; and grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 21great grandchildren. Mrs. Patsy was a member of Central Drive Baptist Church of East Dublin where she served as Church Treasurer. She graduated as a dental hygienist and worked in a local dentist office before working at several sewing factories, including Bill Joe’s Sewing Factory. Mrs. Patsy and her husband were the owner/operators of Brinson Diesel from 1985 until 2013, then she continued working as the bookkeeper for Maintenance Solutions with her sons Curtis and Patrick.
Mrs. Patsy enjoyed mullet fishing and camping with her family and instilled many traditions to be carried out. She loved quilting and often made quilts as Secret Santa gifts, which were lovingly fought over by family. Despite having a large family, she never failed to provide love, support and make time for everyone. She did so not out of obligation, but because of who she was.
Mrs. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Hansel “Pa” Brinson; sister-in-law Connie Garnto; brothers-in-law Ted and David Brinson; grandson Matthew Spires; great granddaughter, McKenna Lakey; son-in-law Willie Spires, and parents Mercer Denby, and Virgil “Smokey” and Lavone Daniels.
Mrs. Patsy is survived by her children Virgil Brinson (Kathy) of Brewton, Kaye Spires of Rhine, Curtis Brinson (Lisa) of Rentz, Patrick Brinson (Jennifer) of Dublin, and Tammy Young (Monty) of East Dublin; and a brother George Wayne Daniels of Portal; grandchildren, Chris Brinson (Jennifer), Kristy Smith (Brock), Carmen Roland (Clay), Hannah Flowers (Coty), Aaron Spires (Macy), Hunter Lakey (Harlie), Elizabeth Coleman (Camden), Garrett Young (Anzlie), Skipper Murphy (Dakota), Averi Brinson, Dylon Fleming (Rachel), Sydney Foskey (Thomas), Peyton Brinson (Emily), Logan Fleming, Carley Brinson, Cassie Brinson, Joe Spires (Cynthia), Rebekah Spires, Willie Spires (Logan), Dustin Young(Lesa): six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
