Paul Aikey Obituary

Master Sergeant Paul Oberdorff Aikey passed away on April 21, 2026, in Dublin, Georgia, at the age of 97. He was born on March 4, 1929, in Montana, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by faithful service, steady kindness, and deep devotion to the people and places he loved.

MSG Aikey was the son of the late Paul Aikey and Mary Alice Oberdorff Aikey. He carried the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance throughout his life, and those who knew him remember him as a thoughtful, generous, and faith-filled man. His presence brought comfort and strength to his family and friends, and his quiet example left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know him.

He was a proud retired Master Sergeant from the United States Army, where he served his country with honor and dedication. Following his years of military service, he continued to serve others through his work as a Computer Program Trainer with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

MSG Aikey’s was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Grinstead Aikey, and by his son, Paul Aikey, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Berquist Aikey; his daughter-in-law, Linda Aikey; his step-daughter, Priscilla Solloway; his grandson, Shawn Aikey and his wife Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

He was a member of Rentz Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being on the golf course and was an avid golfer who played many rounds at Green Acres Golf Course. He also enjoyed Square Dancing with the Irish Reelers, where he shared laughter, music, and friendship.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 24, 2026 at Rentz City Cemetery with Rev. Tom Vann officiating.
