Mr. Paul Alvin Chism, age 67, passed away Friday, September 03, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital.
Mr. Chism was born March 9, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Wanda Bentley Chism, and his parents, Newton William (Jean) Chism, Sr. and Helen Joiner (Arthur) Grant. He was a member of Crosspoint Community Church and was retired from Kroger as a retail manager. He also served in the retail management capacity for a number of other businesses in and around Dublin. During his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and before his health declined, riding motorcycles with his family. He was always generous with his time and was willing to help others when asked.
He is survived by his children, Leslie Chism (Justin) Hutto of Rentz and Paul Anthony (Brittany) Chism of Dublin, a brother, Bill Chism, Jr. of Dublin, five grandchildren, Ethan Bradford, Macie Hutto, Lakely Hutto, Grayson Chism, and Oaklyn Chism and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step-siblings, Dennis Grant, Susan (Stan) Adamson, Terri Skinner, and Arthur Skinner.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the chapel.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Bradford, Grayson Chism, Trey Chism, Kerry Bridges, Kyle Teston, James Rainey, and Ben Osburn.
The Chism family and Townsend Brothers Funeral Home respectfully ask that all in attendance wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health department and the CDC.
