Paul Hudson, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Paul Hudson, Jr., 96, of Dublin, Georgia died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Serenity Hospice.

Born on October 17, 1924, Paul was the son of the late Paul Hudson, Sr. and Effie Blanche Flanders.  He grew up in Dublin, was an honor graduate of Dublin High School Class of 1941, and later joined the U. S. Navy.  While there he continued his education at Middle Georgia College, University of Georgia, University of South Carolina, Cornell, and Colgate.

Upon returning home from his military service, Paul married Helen Mae Warren, the love of his life, and joined with his father to start the family business, Hudson Electric Company.  He worked there as an electrician for some 73 years, retiring in December 2020.

Baptized in 1955 at the First Christian Church of Dublin, Paul attended there faithfully until 1994 when he joined Henry Memorial Presbyterian Church.  He was a faithful and devoted member who loved the Lord, his church, and his family.  He walked in the way of the Lord and was blessed by Him.  He shall be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruby Martin; two brothers, Charles Hudson and Johnny Hudson; his daughter Sheryl Askew; and granddaughter, Heather Lee Hudson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Helen Hudson; his son, Paul Hudson III (Janet) of Dublin; two daughters, Sally Northcutt (Glenn) of Dothan, Alabama and Connie Schultz (Ricky) of Cochran; grandchildren, Paula Hudson Smith (Kim), Dublin; Glenn Paul Northcutt (Claire), Dothan; Derrick Schultz (Misha), Perry, Georgia; Katey Askew, Lula, Georgia, and James Askew, Lula, Georgia; and eight great-grandchildren. The newest, Hudson Wells Northcutt, born on 2/11/21, was named in honor of his great-grandfather.

Paul is also survived by his sister, Mary Tondee, Bunn, North  Carolina; brother, Herman Hudson (Arthine), Dublin; sisters-in-law, Shirley Hudson, Bonaire, Georgia, and Mona Hudson, Mobile, Alabama, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 22, at 11 am at Northview Cemetery with Dr. Ricky Porter officiating.  The service will be live-streamed on Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Facebook page.
