Raymond Mullis Obituary

Raymond Mullis, age 77, known for his friendly demeanor, loving nature, and kindness, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on January 9, 1947, in Cadwell, Georgia, to the late Alvoid and Louise Wilkins Mullis, Raymond's life was one of joy, commitment, and steadfast love.

Raymond was the beloved husband of Gail Mullis, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage filled with laughter and shared dreams. His love extended to his step-daughter, Karen Mullis, who he embraced as his own. Though he is now gone, the legacy of his love lives on in the hearts of his family, including his dear aunt, Augusta Wilkins Howard, his brother-in-law, Frank (Vicki) Pittman, his sister-in-law, Brenda Pittman Smith, his nephew, Michael Pittman, his niece, Laura (David) Walsh, his nephew, Chris (Scarlet) Brooks, his niece, Valerie (Justin) Loyd, his niece, Ashley Bullard, his niece, Brooke Bracewell along with several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Glenda Mullis Brown.

Raymond was a man of faith and fellowship, a long-standing member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, where he found strength and community. He retired from Gilman Paper Company as a forklift operator, a role he undertook with diligence and pride. His work ethic and dedication to his job were admired by all who worked alongside him.

His interests were simple yet profound in the joy they brought him and those around him. Raymond had an enduring love for country music, often found humming along to his favorite tunes. He was also a fan of old movies, appreciating the nostalgia and timeless stories they presented. Perhaps one of his most cherished pastimes was spending time on Lake Sinclair, where the tranquility of the water and the beauty of nature provided him with endless contentment.

Raymond's life was a testament to the power of kindness. His friendly greetings, warm embraces, and genuine concern for others made him a cherished figure in his community. He approached life with a kindness that was as natural to him as breathing, and in doing so, touched the lives of many.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kyle Giddens officiating.
