Rev. James H. (Fred) Bullard, age 79, of East Dublin, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at home.
Rev. Bullard was born in Jacksonville, FL, on June 21, 1943, to the late Elzie and Mary Lee Simmons Bullard. He became a licensed minister on July 6, 1977, was ordained on February 2, 1978, and graduated from the Georgia Baptist Bible Institute on May 26, 1986. Rev. Bullard served as a Baptist pastor in several churches in South Georgia and was a school bus driver for 18 years.
Fred enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was a devoted husband.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Bullard.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dixie S. Bullard; children, Charlean Love (Sid), Rodney Bullard (Becky), Annette Bullard, and Brad Bullard (Laura); grandchildren, Brett Bullard, Christopher Love, Warren Bullard (Hannah), Bishop Bullard (Alicia, Fiancé), Josh Love, Blaire Bullard, Brynlee Bullard, Kesley Calloway (Josh), Brandon Bullard (Michaela), and Brittany Cook; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Travis Bullard (Pam), and Freddie Bullard; sister, Joann Bullard Fuller (Jerry); sister-in-law, Gladys Bullard, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 22nd, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with a burial to follow in Minter Cemetery. Rev. James R. Bullard and Rev. Dan Eidson will officiate.
Rev. Bullard’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to The Medical Center, Dr. Williamson, Fairview Park Hospital nurses and physicians, Minter Fire Department, and Laurens County EMS, for their care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minter Fire Department, 650 County Farm Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
