Services for Rickey Tennyson Melton, age 66, will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with interment to follow at Bracewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Patrick Moore, Dillon Graham, Mark Harden, Greg Brooks, Matt Dimmens, and Scott Melton will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Richardson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Melton was born in Dublin to the late Emory Melton and the late Clio Wilkes Melton on September 1, 1957. He worked with the Georgia Department of Corrections and later retired after many years of service. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. More than anything, he loved and cherished his family. He passed away January 20, 2024.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Sumner Melton, and his brothers, Glen Melton and Phil Melton.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Audrie Melton Hancock (Brett Padgett) of Glenwood; son, Kyle Melton (Kayte Soles) of Glenwood; grandchildren, Brailey Gyger, Bentley Hancock, an unborn granddaughter, Boa Melton, Drake Melton, Kynlee Melton, Kaisley Soles, Laith Davis, and Kaitlyn Davis; brother, Don Melton (Gwen) of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.
