Robbie (Hobbs) Sapp

Mrs. Robbie Hobbs Sapp, age 87, of Dublin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, March 16, 2018.

Mrs. Sapp was born in Laurens County on January 9, 1931, to the late William Franklin and Latha Ethel Pope Hobbs. She worked at J.P. Stevens for many years and retired from Hobbs Sporting Goods. She was a faithful member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, serving as treasurer for the Faith Naomi Sunday School Class. “MeMe”, as she was lovingly called by those closest to her, enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and sharing dishes with those who were homebound.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sapp was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Buddy” Sapp, Jr.; siblings, Walter F. Hobbs, James Edward “Ed” Hobbs, Daniel Ralph Hobbs, Nina Mae Hobbs Dyches, Wyolene Rosa Hobbs Steadham, Fred Lamar Hobbs, William Franklin “Billy” Hobbs, Harold Delano Hobbs, and William Aaron Hobbs.

She is survived by her son, Artie Sapp, of Gray; daughters, Donna Beasley (Ross), of Dublin, Susan Cox (John), of Thomaston, and Cindy Rowland (Tracy), of Dudley; grandchildren, Tracy Nomayer (Wolfgang), Brad Miles (Staci), Alison Barrett (Andrew), Blair Cox, Courtney Cox, Kason Rowland (Kelli), and Micah Rowland (Lacey); 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Phelps and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. John Cox will officiate.

Mrs. Sapp’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
