Robert Augustus Johnson

Robert Augustus Johnson, age 64, of Montrose, Georgia, passed away on February 11, 2024.

Robert was born on September 25, 1959, in Dublin, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Quinton Augustus Johnson and Ethel Lee Hall Johnson, two brothers, Leon Johnson and Quincey Johnson, sister, Susan Thomas, and his beloved four-legged best friend, Smoke.

He was retired from Gilman Paper Company. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jill Johnson; his son, Chris (Jessica) Johnson; his daughter, Krystle (David) Perry; grandchildren, Makayla Johnson, Austin Johnson, Cayden Johnson, and Ansley Kate Johnson.; his sister, Elene (Glenn) Williams; brother, Edward (Vickie) Johnson; several nieces and nephews, and his faithful fishing buddy, Marty Powell.

A service will be held at 3 P.M., Thursday, February 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-3 on Thursday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

 Mitch Fulford, Marvin Lee Fulford, Grimsley Fulford, Jeff Willis, Casey Bass, and Justin McLeod will serve as pallbearers.

Robert requested that people in attendance wear casual clothing.
