Robert Eugene “Bobby” Locke, age 64, of Dublin, Georgia, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Dublin, Georgia.
Born on December 28, 1961, in Macon, Georgia, Bobby lived a life marked by love, laughter, and devotion to the people who meant the most to him. His loving nature, friendly spirit, and wonderful sense of humor touched family, friends, and neighbors throughout his life.
Bobby was a member of Dudley Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life. He was also the best dad, brother, and “Poppy,” a title he wore with great pride and joy. His family was the center of his world, and he found his greatest happiness in the time he spent with them. He will be remembered for the kindness he showed, the laughter he shared, and the steady presence he provided to those who loved him.
He was an avid football and baseball fan and enjoyed following the games with enthusiasm. Bobby also served faithfully as a Dudley Little League score keeper, a role that reflected both his love for the sport and his commitment to the community. Whether cheering from the sidelines or sharing a joke with those around him, he brought energy and good cheer wherever he went.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Silas James Locke. He is survived by his daughter, Lacee Ward and her husband Blake of Dublin; his granddaughter, Saylor Ward of Dublin; his grandson, Hampton Ward of Dublin; and his mother, Nell Locke of Dublin. He is also survived by his siblings, Janice Ballard and her husband David of Dudley, Ronnie Locke of Dublin, Emily Locke of Dublin, Sheila O’Neal of Dublin, Angie Evans and her husband Stacy of Albany, Georgia, Julie Floyd and her husband Doug of Jeffersonville, and Jason Locke and his wife Amanda of Dudley. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Those who knew Bobby will remember a man who was loving, funny, and friendly in every sense of the words. He had a gift for making others smile and a way of bringing comfort and joy to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A funeral service celebrating Bobby’s life will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Dudley Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until the service hour at the church.
