Ronald Brown, a cherished and devoted family man, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Dublin, GA, on January 4, 2026, at the age of 67. Ronald was born on August 20, 1958, to the late Roger Brown and Gladys Sterling Maddox. His life was a testament to the values of love, dedication, and service, leaving a legacy that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ronald was a dedicated member of Orianna Baptist Church, where he found strength and solace in fellowship. His spiritual dedication was a cornerstone of his life, providing guidance and comfort to him and those around him.
Ronald's professional life was marked by a distinguished career as a correctional officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections. His dedication to his work was evident in his approach to every task and interaction, earning him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and those under his watch.
Beyond his career, Ronald's passions painted the picture of a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and never met a stranger. A dedicated Florida Gator fan, he could often be heard cheering, "Go Gators!" with a spirit that was contagious. His love for softball was more than a hobby; he was an avid player, well-known in the community for his skill and sportsmanship.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Liza Kay; his sons, Justin and Christopher (Kayla); his adored grandchildren, Brayden, Bryson, Ellie, and Piper; his brothers, Jimmy (Yvonne) and Michael (Laurie); and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of warmth and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Cole Morris and Rev. Mike Mertz officiating. Burial will follow at Orianna Baptist Church Cemetery in Treutlen County.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Richard Brown, Stephen Brown, Josh Brown, Paul Sterling and Jeff Upshaw.
