Sharon W. Lord, age 82, of Dexter, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born in Gordon, GA, to Corlie and Jewel Ward. She and her sister, Brenda, often went fishing with their Postmaster father who doted on the two younger girls. Her parents died within a year of each other when Sharon was only thirteen. Sharon then came to Dexter to live with her sister, Jenny. Sharon was a member of Dexter Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Dublin Christian Women’s Club. She was a homemaker, part-time bookkeeper for Lord’s Sausage Co., mother of four, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roger W. Lord, Sr.; sister, Jenny Knight, and brothers, Corlie Ward, and GB Ward.
Survivors include her children; Wayne (Tammie) Lord, Jill (Jerry) Hatcher, Tracy Cesario, Britt (Nedia) Lord all of Dexter, grandchildren; Callan (Jonathan) Morris of Dublin, Hope (Josh) Carter of Dexter, Laura (J.P.) Parsons of Olathe, KS, Caitlin Hatcher of Decatur, Jason (Ashley) Gay, Johnathan Cesario, Jared Cesario, Natalie Cesario, and Nate Cesario, all of Dexter, Brittany Lord of Dublin, Jeremy (Taylor) Lord of Dudley, and Mindy (Jake) Hendley, and Jacob (Darby) Lord, all of Dexter; great-grandchildren, Thomas Morris, Hatcher Carter, Ridge Parsons, Landry Parsons, Axl Gay, Laken Cesario, Amelia Cesario, Gray Griffith, Jade Lord, Jeb Lord, Hunt Hendley, Georgia Rose Hendley, and Sage Lord; siblings, Brenda Loftis of Pennsylvania, Billy Ward of Pensacola, FL, and Jewel Ward of Macon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mrs. Lord will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Larry Waldrep will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jason Gay, Jeremy Lord, Jonathan Cesario, Jacob Lord, Jared Cesario, and Nate Cesario.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff, nurses, and aides of Home Instead and Serenity Hospice. They would also like to thank her faithful group of private sitters. You all blessed her and our family more than you will ever know.
