Funeral services for Sherryll Herndon, age 66, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 8, 2025 at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donnie Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born April 12, 1959 in Macon, Georgia; Sherryll lived in Virginia, California and even Central America while growing up. Her family settled back in Georgia and she called Augusta and Lincolnton home. She returned to Middle Georgia in 1989 after a transfer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Robins Air Force Base. She had a nine-year break in service and after 9/11, returned to Civil Service working for the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering Group and the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group before retiring in 2011. Sherryll passed away Friday, December 5, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, the late Harvey B. Herndon, her mother and step-father, Ethel Anita Evans Young and Walter R. Young; her maternal grandparents, Jackson R. & Ethel B. Evans; paternal grandparents, Herbert A. & Carrie Herndon; two brothers, Tsun Nan Herndon and Samuel Mark Herndon; a grandson, Michael J.M. Sarber, III; a cherished cousin, Cleveland Edge and many more loved ones.
She is survived by her sons, Joey Sarber and Brandon (Hannah) Denton; her daughter, Kaitlen Sarber; sisters, Maria Cook and Lisa (Lee) Nichols; her brother; Shane (Natalie) Herndon; her beloved grandchildren, Landon Burnett, Laina Burnett, Aaron Denton and Braxton Denton; her great-grandson, Garrett Burnett, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 8, 2025 at the funeral home.
