Shirley Hall Dominy, a beacon of faith and love, was called home to the Lord on February 14, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Dublin on October 10, 1938, Shirley's life was one of unwavering service to God, her family, and her community. Her early years in Dublin would set the stage for a life characterized by devotion, joy, and the grace of a true Christian.
The beloved daughter of John Cohen Hall Sr. and Ethel Foskey Hall, both of whom predeceased her, Shirley was a nurturing presence to all who knew her. She was also reunited in eternal rest with her cherished sisters Ethel Lee Johnson, Charolette Register, and Bertie Faye Pryor, as well as her dear husband, Gary Dominy, and her step granddaughter, Kim Tyson. Their legacy of kindness continues through her remaining family, including her stepdaughter Judy Elaine Holder (Larry), step grandchildren Nicki Harrison (Rodney), Amanda Holder, Brittany Rowell (Bubba), her many step great grandchildren, her loving nieces and nephews, and her brother, J.C. Hall Jr. (Iris).
Shirley enriched the lives of others not only through her personal relationships but also through her professional endeavors. Her dedicated service at Piggly Wiggly in the meat department and at Kroger as a stocker earned her the respect and affection of colleagues and customers alike. At Bethsaida Baptist Church, she was an active member of the Joy Club and took great pleasure in sharing God's word, embodying the teachings of her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16.
Her interests outside of work and the church brought additional joy to Shirley and the people around her. Shopping with friends, tending to her garden, and inviting warmth into every interaction were Shirley's gifts to the world. They remember her as a loving, friendly, and faith-filled woman whose spirit was a light in the lives of those she touched.
Shirley lived out her days as a dedicated housewife, mother, grandmother, friend to many, and faithful servant of God. Her impact on this world was profound, and as her community mourns her loss, they also celebrate the lasting impression of a life well-lived. Shirley Hall Dominy's legacy of love, friendship, and unwavering faith will continue to be felt throughout the lives of those she cherished and the many others she inspired along her earthly journey.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
