Services for Shirley E. Wilson, who passed away on October 14, 2025, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18th at the Dublin First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service hour at the church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ritchie Johnson will officiate.
Shirley was born in Six Mile, SC, on December 9, 1934, to the late Baxter C. Edens and the late Dessie D. Edens. Shirley graduated with honors from Furman University, majoring in Home Economics. She was married to her devoted husband, Ronald Wilson, for 64 years. Dublin became their home in 1976, when Ronald joined Southeast Paper Company. Shirley soon began in-depth Bible Studies at Dublin First Baptist Church where God impressed upon her heart to help spread the word of God through teaching 5th grade Sunday school and assisting her husband with ministering to young married couples. They also helped host a couple’s prayer group with dear friends for over 40 years.
Mrs. Wilson was active in her community as a member of the Dublin Service League. Her most rewarding service was volunteering at Save a Life for many years. She was also an avid bridge player and doubles tennis player in the community. She was loved by her family, friends and community. Shortly after her husband’s death in 2019, Mrs. Wilson moved to Clemson, SC to be near her daughter, Rhonda Hensley.
