Susan Hughes Cash, known affectionately as Ann by those who loved her, was called to her heavenly home on November 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on June 30, 1948, in Decatur, Alabama, Ann's life was a testament to her unwavering love she had for her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Ann found peace and happiness in the simplicity of gardening and yard work. She was a member of Rentz Baptist Church. Ann's love for her family, her unwavering faith, and the beauty she cultivated in her garden and in her relationships will remain as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Hughes and Zelma Barnett Cheatham, her beloved husband, J.C. Cash, her grandson, Brandon Burnett, her sister, Gail Clements, and her brother, Carl Hughes. She is survived by her son, Jerry Burnett (Jeanie), son Rodney Cash, daughter Gayla Cash, and daughter Lisa Morris (Shaine). Ann's life was further enriched by her eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ann's memory will also be cherished by her brother, Jurdy Hughes and his wife Alice, her sisters, Shirley Nolen, Virgie Marmore, and Carolyn Cannon, as well as several nieces and nephews. Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2026 at Rentz Baptist Church with burial to follow at Snowhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cadwell, GA. Reverend Tom Vann and Grady Mimbs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Joey Burnett, Christian Valdez, Jarred Mimbs, Tim Ammerson, and Dustin Owens.
