Thomas Anthony “Tom” Boknevitz 77, of Dublin, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2024.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Leonard and Lorraine Boknevitz, as soon as he graduated from high school, he joined the US Air Force. Serving his country was one of his greatest accomplishments. He was a member of the 16th Special Operations Squadron where he earned many metals including a Distinguished Flying Cross for his bravery among several others. He was a proud member of the Spectre organization. Tom retired from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Tom soon joined the Tri-State Inns, Shoney’s Inn where he worked and traveled across the Southeast United States. He came to Dublin in 1986 and soon met his loving wife, Paula. They married in 1992 and made their home here.
Tom had a deep love of the Civil War and weathered many jokes about being a Yankee while living in the South. He taught his grandchildren and great-grandchildren his love of history and patriotism that they will proudly carry on in his absence.
Tom is survived by his wife, Paula White Boknevitz, and his two daughters, Lisa (Dennis) Mullis, and Tammie (Wendell) Lawrence all of Dublin; his 4 grandchildren, Melissa (John) Owens, Charlene (Roman) Ramsey, and Amanda (Terry) Gilbert of Dublin, and Deyton (Katherine) Wright of Griffin; 12 Great Grandchildren: Samantha and Adylin Mullis; Rebecca and Evan Owens; Jonathan, Mayes, and Kamron Ramsey; Bella Kate, Emersyn, Ansley, and Jackson Gilbert; and Diesel and Decker Wright. He is also survived by a sister, Carol (Mike) Roddy of Beaver Dam, WI as well as many nieces and nephews.
And to his Spectre buddies, Tom had a special message IYASYAS.
