Timothy “Tim” Scott Kosten, Sr., born on May 11. 1961 passed away on June 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ina Mae Fulford and Robert Leo Kosten Sr, brothers, Robert “Bobby” and Leslie “Gene” Kosten, sister, Debbie Kosten Rauch, mother-in-law, Emaline Hunter that loved him deeply and treated him like a son and his in-laws, Willie and Lorraine Lee and Shamakaye Lee of Hickox, GA.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Melbrey Hunter Kosten, son, Timothy “Scott” Kosten Jr. of East Dublin, brother-in-laws, Carlton Rauch of Gowen, Michigan and George “Tommie’ Conner of Folkston, GA, nieces and nephews, Karen Hand (Darrell), Carla “Kim’ Lee, Travis Hand (Tracey), Chelsea Hand, Mark Warren, Brandi Warren, Krystal Kosten Ikard, Elizabeth and Hunter, Robert “Bobby” Kosten Jr. (Lisa) and his furbabies, close friends, Richard Tillman, Terry Sapp Burke, Mackie Lawrence, Glen and Cherly Waters, and many other family and friends.
Mr.Kosten owned Palmetto Security System until 2010. He was also employed by YKK of Dublin as a Security Supervisor, Laurens County Sheriff Department as a transport officer, The Bradmark Company as a electrical technician, and many others. He also served in the military starting out in the US Army and changing to the US Navy as a Navy Seal before becoming disabled.
He loved his music especially Hank, Budlight Beer, and a cigar while sitting outside. He passed away due to complications of Covid with Pneumonia. He recently found out that he had Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. His love for singing and his joking ways will be missed greatly.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kitrea’ Nicole Clay (Travis), grandkids, Tucker, Railey Claire, and Trey Clay, sister-in-law, Shirley Crews (Archie), Sephen, Emily, Cora and Ellie Crews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Ronnie Powell and Rev. Glenn Waters will officiate. Navy military honors will conclude the memorial service.
