Tommy Arthur Starley

Mr. Tommy Arthur Starley, age 71, of Dexter, Georgia, passed away at his home on March 14, 2024.

He was born on August 29, 1952, in Dublin, Georgia: he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Alver and Thelma Akridge Starley, a sister, Melody Starley, and a brother Homer Starley.  Mr. Starley worked at J.P. Stevens for 15 years before retiring from Dublin Construction. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Townsend Starley; his son, Bradley Starley; his daughter, Tammy Downs (Ricky); his brother, Al (Frances) Starley; his sisters, Mary Ann Starley Meeks, Jane Garnto (Wayne) Lowery, and Betty Jacobs; his brother, Terry (Terrie) Starley; three grandchildren, Jordan Underwood, Jacob (Megan) Underwood, and Rayne Underwood; sister-in-law, Sandra Starley and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Minister Tammy Downs officiating.

Pallbearers will be Justin Starley, Eric Starley, Jay Starley, Jeff Starley, Rob Lovett and Jacob Underwood.
