Valosta Griffin Horton, 77, of Dublin, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
A graveside service will be held by Townsend Brothers Funeral Home at Dublin Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Rev. Keith Collins will officiate. The family will receive friends at the home of Tanya and Bobby LeRoy.
Val was born in Abbeville, AL, on June 1, 1944. She was the youngest daughter of the late Home and Lessie Griffin and was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Griffin, Jr.; daughter, Donna Coshatt; sisters, Martha Talley, Hazel Clements, Mary Woods, Ruth Hicks, Peggy Cordele of Eufaula, AL, and her loving husband of 19 years, Henry Horton.
She attended Eufaula High School and worked several jobs there before moving to Dublin. She was a homemaker for many years. She also worked at the Dianna Dress Shop many years ago and for the Dublin Courier Herald as a devoted paper carrier for 40 plus years, where she served many and made many friends there. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and shopping.
Val is survived by her three children Scott Hagler (Ashley) of Columbia, SC, Sam Hagler (Anna) of Kathleen, GA, and Tanya LeRoy (Bobby) of Dublin; sister, Pearl Hagler of Eufaula, AL; grandchildren, Lindsey Hagler of Virginia, Heath Hagler (Morgan) of North Carolina, Brant Hagler of Columbia, SC, Matthew Hagler of Columbia, SC, Halle Hoyt (Patrick) of Pooler, Holden Hagler of Kathleen, and Amber Beasley (Josh), Abi LeRoy, and Bill LeRoy all of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Sadie Grace Hagler of North Carolina, Anderson Wesley Hoyt of Pooler, and Alex Joris (Cole), Jenna Beasley, Blake Beasley, Blayne Becker, Tinsley Becker, and JB Beasley all of Dublin, and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
