Virginia Payne Tipton

Virginia Payne Tipton, age 85, of Dublin, passed away on October 17, 2020.

Mrs. Tipton was born in Rentz, Ga to the late Alton Dominy and Maeaudley Bedingfield . She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she played the organ for over 70 years. She was a committed Pink Lady at Fairview Park Hospital for many years. Mrs. Tipton a dedicated home maker and a wonderful mother. She was affectionately known by all her grandchildren as “Doodlebug”.  She is preceded in death by her Parents, Alton and Maeaudley Dominy, husbands, Billy Payne, Edwin Baggett, Russell Tipton, and sister, Betty Ann Currie.

Services for Mrs. Tipton will be held Graveside on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Mount Zion Church Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM. Dr. Larry Daniel will officiate. The family will receive friends in church sanctuary from 1:00 until service hour.

Survivors include sons, David Payne of Dublin, Jerry Payne (Robin) of Augusta, daughter, Lisa Ayres (Frank) of Rentz, grandchildren, Ashley Smith (Jordan), Joshua Williams (Michelle), Billy Payne (Hope), great grandchildren, Camden Smith, Willow Rose Payne, and her brother, Jimmy Dominy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Don Beck, Ronnie Dixon, Mark Baker, Keith Brooks, Billy Payne, Joshua Williams will serve as pall bearers.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mount Zion Bus fund, PO Box 392, Rentz, GA 31075.
