Walton Lanier Currie

Walton Lanier Currie, passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on February 03, 1938, in Cedar Grove, Georgia to the late Wendell and Julia Taylor Currie on his family farm. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Chilimidos Currie.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Currie (Marcia) of Cedar Grove and Brian Currie (Donna) of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Taylor Currie, Melissa Currie, Amanda Currie (Dustin Hughes), and Jacob Currie.  

Walton was retired from Florida Power after 36 years of service. After retirement he moved back home to run his family ranch.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 23 2026, at Oakdale Baptist Church. Rev. W.L. Currie will officiate.
