William Cox Obituary

William Edward Cox, age 73, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Cox was born in Laurens County on September 30, 1948, to the late Ralph Edward Cox and the late Evelyn Alligood Cox. Mr. Cox had a 40 year career with the Dublin Fire Department; serving 20 of those dedicated years as Captain and was respected by all who served under his command.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved spending time with, “His Heart”, his grandchildren; hunting, fishing, and riding his tractor. He was married to the love of his life, Brenda Williams Cox for 52 happy years and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

In addition to his wife, Brenda, he is survived by son, Tennyson Cox (Gwen); daughter, Tina Bracewell (Mark); grandchildren: T.J. Cox, Gracie Cox, Kinsey Bracewell, Caitlan Bracewell, and  Alex Bracewell; great-grandchildren, Tripp Bracewell and Aubree Bracewell; brother, Darrell Mullis (Joan); sister, Dianne Pope (Douglas); brother-in-law, Al Williams (Debra), and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be the Fire Department Honor Guard, and retired and active members of the Dublin Fire Department.
