William Crawford Simmons, M.D., age 78, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dr. Simmons was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Darlington, Emory University, and Emory University Medical School. He practiced privately as a Psychiatrist for 31 years in Atlanta. He continued his work in Psychiatry through the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, where he worked from 2004 until his retirement in 2012. He was an avid golfer and member of the Dublin Country Club. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Olin Simmons and Mary Elizabeth Crawford Simmons.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Simmons, of Dublin, GA; sons, James Simmons (Lisa), of Statesboro, GA and William Crawford Simmons, Jr., of Charleston, S.C.; grandson, Crawford Simmons (Meredith), of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Addison Simmons, of Statesboro, GA; brothers, Robert Simmons of Rome, GA and Harry Foss, of Dalton, GA; sister, Beth Henderson, of McDonough, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
