William "Billy" Jones

William “Billy” Jones, age 80, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Mr. Jones was born on May 16, 1940, to the late Harold and Christine Keene Jones. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after 3 ½ years of service and then joined the United States Air Force Reserves. He retired as an Industrial Engineering Technician from Warner Robins Air Force Base and was a member and Deacon of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was devoted to his Christian faith and his loving wife of 57 years, Linda. Billy was also a Mason and member of Laurens Lodge #75 F&AM. He liked to people watch on his weekly shopping trips and enjoyed talking to people. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Draper, and great-granddaughter, Maisie Rae Pittman.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Jones, of Dublin; daughters, Debbie Prince (Albert), of Rentz, and Cindy Pittman (James), of Dublin; grandchildren, Cotey Graham (Sera), Erica Graham, Aaron Pittman, and Casey Pittman (Desiree Page), all of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Hunter Graham, Holden Graham, Cayden Pittman, all of Dublin, and Liberty Allen, of Texas.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

 Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Bethesda Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens with Masonic and military rites. Rev. Baron Powell will officiate.
