William Monroe "Buddy" Gay, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on June 13, 1945, in Plant City, Florida, Buddy was a beacon of light to all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Buddy was predeceased by his parents, Carrel and Eloise Douglas Gay, and his nephew, Dan Gay. His memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, Barbara Phillips Gay, with whom he shared countless moments of joy and companionship. He was a loving father to his son, Josh Gay (Tiffany) of Dublin; his daughters, Lisa Kight (Kenny) of Dublin, and Cheryl Mullis of Tennessee; and his step-son, Walt Bailey of Dublin. He is also survived by a brother, Doug Gay (Saundra) of Dublin
Buddy was veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the Warner Robins Air Force Base after a fulfilling career. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin, where he formed lasting friendships and served in various capacities over the years.
