William Dewey “Buddy” Carter, age 82, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Emanuel County Medical Center.
Mr. Carter was born in Wrightsville, Georgia on November 8, 1941 to the late William Dewey Carter and the late Gladys Salter Carter. He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He retired after working as an auto parts salesman for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Carter and Darrell Carter, and sister, Warner Brantley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Williams Carter of Adrian; sons, Will Carter (Jennifer) and Robert Carter (Karen) both of Dublin; daughter, Sherry Carter of Cordele; step-daughters, Susan Williams (Neal) of Cadwell and Cindy Perry of Adrian; step-son, Donald Perry (Misty) of Dublin; granddaughters, Kenzie Carter, Katelyn Lleras (Daniel), and Hannah Carter; grandson, Carter Smith; step-grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Asheton Perry, Mollie Perry, Mercedes Perry, Rachel Lyles, Chris Lyles, Landon Kapp, Amber Kapp; and sister, Francine Caylor.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
