Winifred Sewell Adkins of Cadwell passed away Friday, December 27, 2024. She was a devout member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she loved serving her Lord. She was devoted to her family and loved taking care of her flowers. Mrs. Adkins was retired from Forstmann and Company.
Winifred was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Louis Sewell and Maggie Dormany Sewell, her husband Wallace Lamar Adkins, a son Bruce Lamar Adkins, siblings, Calvin Sewell, Laura Mae Alcorn, J.L. Sewell, George Sewell, Ruth Lupo, Rosalee Bair, and a half- brother, Henry Sewell.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Melinda) Sewell, Ann (Jimmy) Brown, grandchildren, Thomas (Mary Jo) Sewell, Jr., Tracy (Pete) Knoch, Heather (Skip) Barber, Terry (Heather) Widener, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, half brother, Herman Sewell, sister in law, Alice Sewell and a daughter in law, Frankie Sue Adkins and a lifelong friend, Doris Dixon of Cochran.
Services for Mrs. Adkins will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church . Rev Greg Lowery and Rev. Alan Heath will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Olive Cemetery in Chester.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Sewell, Jr., Terry Widener, Hunter Widener, Justin Widener, Kasey Radney and C. J. Williams.
