Woodrow W. Pennington, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 77. He was born on June 29, 1947, in Laurens, South Carolina, to the late Woodrow W. Pennington Sr. and Lola Mae Hughes Pennington.
He was a dedicated carpenter and took great pride in his work with Garbutt Construction before his retirement. His craftsmanship was not just a job but a form of expression that brought joy to those who experienced his work. He was also a Mason, an affiliation that spoke to his strong sense of community and his commitment to the values of brotherhood.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pennington was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Terry Bodie.
His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Linda Pennington; his daughters, Cyndi Hodges White (Richard) and Cheryl Daniel (Chad), his son, Tony Pennington (Leslie), and his adored grandchildren: William Pennington Chambers, Stephanie White Walker, Amber Davila-White, Seth Anthony Daniel, Payton Luke Pennington, and Jeffery Wilson Daniel; as well as seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Coon, and several nieces and nephews.
A simple man at heart, he found pleasure in the simple things in life. He enjoyed fishing, welding, and spending his free time woodworking and creating things with his hands. Above all, he was a family man, and his greatest joy was the time he spent surrounded by his loved ones.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the cemetery.
