Zona Mae (Pearce) Powell

Zona Mae Pearce Powell, age 81, of Adrian, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on October 18, 2024.

Zona was born on September 18, 1943, in Blakely, GA, to the late Hershel Pearce and the late Louise Jeter Pearce. Her greatest pastimes were gardening, quilting, and spending time with her family. She loved her family dearly. Zona was the Pastor of The Church of Jesus Christ in Scott, where she has faithfully served for the last 43 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hart Powell Sr., daughter, Wendy Marich, and her son, Michael Scales.

Survivors include her children, Clifton (Sheila) Scales of Hawkinsville, Stephanie (Todd) Kapp of Adrian, and Herman (Ashley) Powell of Adrian; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wade (Patricia) Pearce and Willie Pearce; sister Connie Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ in Scott, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Todd Kapp Sr. will officiate. The Powell family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ in Scott, GA.
